Hitech Pumps and Motors manufactures the HT series in Ahmedabad. The table is for a bare pump, no motor, no baseplate rated at 1,440 RPM and 1,500 SSU (~300 cSt). All prices are ex-works Ahmedabad. Add GST. Transport is extra (usually to-pay).

CI “current web price” is the sale price on the product page today. SS316 has a single listed price.

How to read one row. HT-100 is a 1″ pump that delivers 50 LPM at 1,440 RPM on a medium oil. The CI unit is ₹3,500 on the website today. The SS316 unit is ₹12,000. Motor HP is a range because power depends on differential pressure (1–10 kg/cm²) and viscosity — not just pipe size.

Why some rows say “on request.” The performance chart has eight models (HT-050 through HT-300). The website dropdown currently lists ½″, 1″, 1½″, 2″, 2½″ and 3″. ¾″ and 1¼″ are manufactured; they are not a click-to-buy variant. Send the size on WhatsApp and we will price HT-075 / HT-125 the same day. SS316 is listed up to 2½″; a 3″ stainless body is a quoted item.

Online directories for the same ½″ / 20 LPM class often show ₹4,000–₹7,000. A 3″ / 500 LPM listing commonly sits well above ₹30,000. Those are usually dealer or brand-label prices. The table above is manufacturer-direct from our Ahmedabad works.

• Typical duty: barrel unloading, small day-tanks, lubrication top-up, lab and OEM skids

• Motor: 0.5–1 HP, 4-pole (1,440 RPM). Single-phase is possible at this HP.

1-inch rotary gear pump price (HT-100, 50 LPM)

• CI: ₹3,500 current / ₹4,200 regular

• SS316: ₹12,000

• Typical duty: diesel / HSD transfer, genset day-tank fill, light lube oil, small edible-oil lines

• Motor: 1–2 HP. Most plants run this on three-phase.

2-inch rotary gear pump price (HT-200, 225 LPM)

• CI: ₹6,500 current / ₹7,200 regular

• SS316: ₹25,000

• Typical duty: tanker unloading, furnace-oil loops, bulk edible oil, resin transfer

• Motor: 3–7.5 HP depending on pressure and viscosity. This is the size where a complete gear pump set usually costs less time (and fewer alignment mistakes) than buying the pump and motor separately.

1½″ (110 LPM) sits between 1″ and 2″ at ₹4,500 CI / ₹19,500 SS316. 3″ (500 LPM) CI is ₹11,600.

Bare pump vs complete set, what ₹5,000 actually buys

The prices in the table are bare pumps. A lot of “gear pump price” listings on IndiaMART mix bare pumps, monoblocks and coupled sets, which is why two quotes for “a 1-inch gear pump” can be ₹4,000 apart.

Hitech’s complete set is:

Current listed price: ₹5,000 sale / ₹7,000 regular. That is the starting figure for the entry size, the Set page has no size dropdown. A 2″ or 3″ set with a 5–20 HP motor is not ₹5,000. Send pump size + fluid + LPM and we will quote the matching HP.

Why most plants buy the set anyway:

• Alignment is done on our floor, not yours. A 0.3 mm offset on a 1,440 RPM coupling is enough to kill a bearing.

• One GST invoice, one warranty point, one crate.

• You skip 1–2 days of local fabrication.

A “cheap” quote that hides the motor, the PRV and the freight is not cheaper. It is incomplete.

How to pick the HT model from flow rate

Ignore the inch size until you know the litres per minute you actually need. Then pick the row that meets that flow at 1,440 RPM. Do not oversize “for the future” by two models, a gear pump that runs against a mostly-closed valve just makes heat and noise.

Two rules that change the row:

1. Viscosity above ~1,000 cSt. You will drop RPM (gearbox or VFD) so the chambers can fill. Flow falls with RPM, so you often step up one model and run it slower. That is why honey, molasses and bitumen quotes do not match the 1,440 RPM column. Use the viscosity selection guide before you lock a size.

2. Pressure toward 10 kg/cm². Motor HP moves to the top of the range. The pump price does not change; the set price does.

CI or SS316: which price tier you actually need

SS316 is roughly 3-5× the CI price on the same port size. That is the metal, not a margin story. Do not buy stainless “to be safe” if the fluid does not need it, and do not save money on CI if the fluid will rust the casing.

Cast iron (from ₹1,800) for self-lubricating, non-corrosive oils: diesel, HSD, LDO, furnace oil, lube oil, hydraulic oil, bitumen, many resins and adhesives. Oils coat the iron and keep it from rusting. Not for water-based fluids, acids, or anything that will be eaten as food.

SS316 (from ₹9,000) for anything that rusts iron, contaminates a batch, or has to pass a hygiene audit: edible oils, syrups, honey, chocolate, solvents, fatty acids, DM water, many chemicals. If you are on the fence: tell us the fluid, concentration and temperature. We will pick the metal. A seized CI pump on a water-cut oil is more expensive than the SS upgrade.

What changes the quote after you pick a size

Size gets you into the right row. These five things move the final number.

1. Viscosity and RPM. Chart flows are at 1,440 RPM / 1,500 SSU. Thin diesel stays there. 5,000 cSt furnace oil in January does not. Low RPM + larger displacement = different motor, sometimes a gearbox. CI and SS316 both handle high viscosity at reduced speed; the SS product sheet rates standard duty to 10,000 cSt, and thicker food products run on a gearbox.

2. Temperature. CI standard models to 200°C. SS316 with PTFE packing to 120°C. Bitumen and heavy fuel usually need a jacketed body (steam or thermic fluid).

3. Seal. CI ships with a neoprene oil seal. Solvents, thin chemicals and anything you cannot afford to drip want a mechanical seal (or SS316 with PTFE packing). Seal upgrades are quoted.

4. Motor area classification. Standard TEFC is the set default. Flameproof / FLP motors for solvent bays and fuel sheds are extra and lead-time items.

5. Relief valve and strainer. Not optional on a gear pump. If the discharge valve can close, the pump will keep making pressure until something gives. We can supply a PRV and a suction strainer with the set.

Three worked examples

1. Diesel to a 125 kVA genset day-tank, ~40 LPM, 4-pole, 3-phase already on site.

HT-100, 1″, CI. Bare pump ₹3,500. If the existing motor is 1–2 HP / 1,440 RPM, buy the pump only and couple it. If not, order the set and send us the motor HP you prefer. Add a suction strainer and a PRV. Fluid is self-lubricating, CI is correct; SS316 would be wasted money.

2. Mustard oil filling line, 80–100 LPM, food contact, CIP at the end of the shift.

HT-150, 1½″, SS316 at ₹19,500. Do not put edible oil through CI. Confirm PTFE / EPDM seals and ask for the material test certificate with the PO. If the oil is cold and thick in winter, we may drop RPM; flow is then recovered by staying on HT-150 rather than stepping down to HT-100.

3. Furnace-oil unloading, 200 LPM, 6–8 kg/cm² line, outdoor bay.

HT-200, 2″, CI at ₹6,500 as a bare pump. This is a set job: 3–7.5 HP 4-pole TEFC, aligned on a channel base. If FO is heavy in winter, jacket + lower RPM. Send us the worst-case viscosity (coldest morning, not the lab sheet at 40°C) or we will oversize the motor rather than the pump.

Wrong-size symptoms — noisy suction, falling flow after six months, seals that weep — are often a viscosity/RPM miss, not a “cheap pump.” If an installed pump is already losing prime, read gear pump losing suction before you replace it.

GST, dispatch, transport, warranty

• Dispatch: in-stock HT sizes typically leave Ahmedabad in 24-48 hours after payment. Jacketed, FLP, special seals: we will tell you the date before you pay.

6. Why is SS316 so much more than CI?

   SS316 body, gears and shaft versus cast iron and EN-8. You are paying for corrosion resistance and product purity, not a different flow rate. Same HT hydraulics.

7. Can I run these on single phase?

   Up to about 3 HP, yes. That covers HT-050 comfortably and HT-100 on a light oil. HT-200 and above are three-phase jobs in almost every plant.

8. Do I need a relief valve?

   Yes if anyone can close a valve on the discharge. A gear pump is positive displacement, it will not “just stall” like a centrifugal.

9. What viscosity will it handle?

   Rated table: 1,500 SSU at 1,440 RPM. With lower RPM, the same pumps handle oils, syrups and bitumen into the tens of thousands of cSt. Send the fluid name and the pumping temperature, not the 25°C lab value.

10. Do you supply spare gears, bushes and seals?

    Yes, from Ahmedabad stock for HT models we have shipped. Quote the model (HT-100, HT-200…) and the serial / invoice if you have it.

11. Will you deliver outside Gujarat?
